Joe Camacho is a great BJJ intstructor. Some instructors may be black belts, but not good teachers. Not the case with Joe Camacho. He is very patient, and gives a good break down of the moves. But he also expects his students to preform. He has even required me to execute moves with my eyes closed. I have been to other schools, which have all been good. However I believe Joe Camacho is a TRUE teacher of the art.

As a lifelong practitioner of martial arts, I have had the priviledge of training with many great warriors, teachers, and instructors, all over the world. For me, Joe Camacho rates with those at the top of my list. He teaches a technical BJJ and is always willing to roll with any student of any rank, which allows students to improve to the best of their ability. Freely, he shows his game in his instruction, providing BJJ chained techniques that are applicable for all. Joe always pushed me to improve and would settle for nothing then my best game. World Class teacher, friend and Act.

I had the priviledge of training with Joe for a year. I started training with him at the UFC Gym, Rosemead in Oct 2010. Right away I like him, as he started his class with some conditioning animal drills. He never gave us a break on those either! He expects you to do your personal best. There is usually not to many females in the classes, but Joe always made me feel comfortable and was always encouraging. His teaching style was easy to understand as breaks down the tecniques in easy to understand steps and explains what/where it is to be used for. If aplicable, will also explain how our animal drills come into play when doing the technique. The thing that stands out to be most if you were to mention Joe Camacho, is how giving of himself he is to his students. He is always willing to roll with us. I never had to be without a partner because if there wasn't an appropriate size person for me, he would roll with me. He rolls with his student even if he has an injured hand..lol. Joe is a great friend and coach to all students and takes an interest in you. I know many students who feel Joe is more than a coach and because of his caring and positive influence has changed their lives. To me that is a Coach!
